How Does Vista Compare with Mac OS X and Windows XP?, Andrew J Fishkin, Best Tools for the Job, 2007.02.06. Vista easily beats Windows XP, but for the most part Mac OS X 10.4 'Tiger' is the better operating system. Xp for mac. As posted about last month, Google Chrome has today dropped support for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X releases 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8.New installations from the Chrome installer download will not work on machines with those operating systems. It doesn't seem to matter if the Windows boxen are running Win7, XP, or Vista. If you *can't* connect at all then let me know and I'll give you the full 'networking between XP, Vista, and OS X' shebang.
Feb 01, 2012 In prefs in Outlook 2011 under 'sync' or whatnot there's setting for syncing with the Mac's contacts, etc. Is that what you want? And in iTunes under 'info' tab there's all kinds of provisions for syncing calendars and contacts.
I'm hoping someone can help me with this query? I have just purchased an Apple Macbook Pro and I've been using PC for years and years. I use Microsoft Outlook for my emails, contacts and calendars. On PC I was able to sync my Iphone contacts and calenders with MS Outlook however this options is now NOT available in iTunes anymore now that I have changed over to Mac. How can I sync my contacts and calender with MS outlook 2011 on my new macbook pro, ideally I'd like to be able to have the same functionality as I did on PC where I connected my iPhone and any updates to my contacts or calenders would then be synced both ways, adding new contacts / calender entries to both systems? Would much appreciate the help? Update on syncing outlook 2011 with iPhone Just in case anyone else has the same problem I do have a partial answer and workaround.
Outlook still cannot carry out two way sync on contacts using iCloud. Whilst I knew this to be a problem a year ago I had foolishly expected Microsoft to have fixed by now. So the workaround is only that of syncing via iTunes. To do this 1)on the iPhone settings select iCloud and turn sync contacts to the cloud to OFF 2) with iTunes on the Mac select sync contacts (Select device on LHS and then select info from horizontal menu).
ISync is not available on Mavericks and newer. With the introduction of Outlook 2011 for Mac, many Mac users are asking the burning question around how to sync Outlook 2011 for Mac with the native Mac Address Book. This is especially relevant as many users now sync their mobile phone contacts (Blackberry, Android, iPhone) with the native Address Book contacts manager.
For example, RIM’s Desktop Manager for Mac syncs with iCal and the Address Book and relies on Sync Services to sync with Outlook 2011 contacts. If you will now be managing your contacts inside Outlook, you will need a way to sync these contacts back to the native Address Book. This is also true if you are using Scrubly to clean up your Address Book contacts. You will need to turn on Sync Services inside Outlook to sync your newly cleaned up contacts from Address Book to Outlook Contacts. Follow the steps below. Before we begin, you should note that Outlook 2011 will sync contacts from Address Book, and you can sync e-mail accounts with Mail. However, Outlook 2011 won’t sync events or tasks from iCal (in part because Microsoft’s primary design goal with Outlook was to make it work with Exchange).
Outlook 2011 also does not support CalDAV. Troubleshooting Sync Services for Mac The above steps are really quite easy, however, many users have complained that syncing does not occur after following these steps. Here’s a few troubleshooting tips you can follow in the event this happens to you. Important: Be sure to back up your Address Book and Outlook Contacts before testing any of these Troubleshooting steps. Turn on iSync • Launch iSync, located in the Applications > Utilities folder • Open preferences window in iSync Application Menu • Check “Enable syncing on this computer”. Sometimes this option seems to be disabled or you can’t check or uncheck this option after starting iSync. In this case, wait for iSync to complete the sync process and then the option will be available again.
