Blackberry Usb And Modem Driver For Macbook Pro
Hi all, new to the forum, 8 years on sprint, about a year on my first smartphone(Curve 8330) I have the Curve working fine as a modem on my Macbook Pro(Os10.5.6) while booted into an XP bootcamp partition. Speakeasy.net tells me i've gotten as much as 1.2 d/load speeds(but the Sprint utility says its more like 600-700k) i like speakeasy, have used it for a while now, seems accurate enough. I also got the modem function working booted in OsX but only as a bluetooth connection.
Blackberry Usb And Modem
(Computer talks to Curve via BT, Curve talks to the web via 3G connection) This way i only get about 300k down, 100+k up, but i assume thats the limitation of the bluetooth connection. I've seen the workarounds using a certain 'modem script' that it tells you to download, but that didn't work for me(at all) anyone have it working using the usb connection in OsX?
Currently i'm using Os X 10.5.6 on an early 08 Macbook pro. Curve 8330 using Blackberry Os 4.5.x.
There is no (known) compatible usb driver for the usb connection to the phone modem. Best free web design editor for mac. That being said, there is no reason why it can't work, just no one has tried every possible driver out there.
RIM isn't making one and sprint ignores mac's completely, for example, they said mac users should go to the RIM site to do the upgrade a few months back, but the site they link to clearly says on the front page 'Requires IE and Windows' to update the phone. They left the link up there even after I pointed it out to Sara, rather than admit there was no way for a mac user to upgrade using OSX.
So if you want to try every generic usb modem driver that comes with the Mac, one might work, otherwise, someone needs to reverse engineer the windows driver and compile it for a linux system.
